    Sustainable materials also resonate strongly with this eco-conscious group.
  2. Professional Couples: Sophisticated and convenient is the name of the game here. High-end finishes, smart home features, and multifunctional spaces are winners. A dramatic kitchen island that doubles as a work area could seal the deal.
    Don’t forget statement lighting – a dopamine hit and a Zoom call backdrop in one.
  3. Families: Focus on creating joyful, practical spaces. Cheerful yet durable finishes in common areas and calming tones such as peach or sage in bedrooms strike the right balance. A mudroom with personalised storage can be a game-changer.
  4. Downsizers: For this market, comfort meets luxury. Think plush, oversized furniture in open-plan living areas, easy-to-maintain finishes, and touches of elegance like a statement chandelier or a spa-like ensuite. Clever storage solutions that spark joy can command premium prices.

It’s important to note that colour does not need to be in the paint. Sometimes, it’s appropriate to paint in a colour, but normally, the wall would be neutral, and colour comes into the soft furnishings, etc.

Trudie Sellick’s Projects in Port Macquarie target downsizers.
Trudie installed a custom wine bucket in the butler’s pantry bench, which opened up to the alfresco with a gas strut window.

This thoughtful addition tapped into downsizers’ desire for luxury and entertainment spaces and helped produce multiple six-figure profits.

Our Darley Street apartment renovation was aimed at urban buyers, so we took a bold approach.

The walls were painted black, complemented by timber veneer joinery. This dramatic contrast resonated with buyers and produced a record price for the building.
