Catching Up With The Class Project

Let’s catch up with the Class Project!

Have you listened to our podcast episode about our Class Renovation Project?
Here is the whole episode and article by Bernadette Janson.

Main Issues Encountered In The Class Project

Last week, the builder said he’s still at least three weeks away from starting. So he’s three to four weeks away. We think we should approach this and get as much done as we can in that time.

We went back to the demolition guy because we had his updated scope, not including the price.

Meeting Our Target Month

It will be a 7-10 day lead time for the Demolition guy and by the time we get him, we’ll be ready for Luke. If we get to that point, we are getting close so we will talk to him about paying him a bonus to push us up to the priority list. We want to make sure that we hit the market this side of Christmas.

Class Project Catch Up: Checklist:

  • Bring another carpenter. Talk to Rebecca about a carpenter who may be able to fill in those windows
  • Focus on roller door, painting the garage and painting the roof. We can’t do the deck first up because It will get ruined when they’re doing that work at the back of the house.
  • Chase down the contractors. We need to make sure that they’re doing what they need to be doing.
  • Get rid of the carport and stove. We will list it in Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree.

Next Actions For The Class Project

Getting quotes from David to do the floor plans for the bathrooms because we do feel that they need to be done and need pretty good plans. Bernadette is just going to get approval to make sure she’s on the right side of the group.

The kitchen one is good to go. The next one that we’ll be watching out for are the second-hand kitchens. We want to be a bit fussy about it because it’s important and we have done the plan for it when I’m on the Bunnings site.
