The Class Project Progress
The demolition project has now been completed. It ended up being a much bigger job than we anticipated. There was a lot of asbestos and a variation on the scope was needed for that as well.
We’re ready for the builder which turns up next week on the 13th of September. In the meantime, we are trying to make decisions on colours and style particularly for the outside.
It’s really balancing act between doing what everyone else does and maybe doing something that’s going to stand out. I tend to think we probably should be conservative. Because if everyone in that area likes a colour scheme, then it seems crazy to rock the boat.”

Things To Be Done Before Next Week
Here are the things we need to get done:
- Getting the portaloo on site
Review the quotes and get back to Kerry to organise delivery - Complete bathroom measurements for David to finish the bathroom layouts
Class Project Progress: Bathroom Idea
On the walls, we’re going for that Kit-Kat tile style, which is a similar configuration. With smaller bathrooms, we will keep it nice and light. We are undecided about whether to go for brass or brushed nickel tapware.
We are also thinking we could have either an arch or a round mirror with back lighting. In the ensuite, we thought we’d go for wall light. It’s whether to go a bit glitzy with the glass, with the taps or to keep it really subtle.
We’d like to put a colour in the bathroom, but it’s better to go for texture rather than colour.
Next Actions For The Class Project
The layout of the kitchen is ready for quoting and we need to make decisions on light fittings around the style for those feature lights. The mud map was done and we will send it to a couple of cabinet makers. We’ve also been watching the Facebook marketplace and Gumtree to check
